Monday Morning Musings

After a wonderful weekend away from all things publishing, a weekend when I could simply play the proud mother to a wonderful son, it’s back to work.  This is going to be a very busy week for us here at NRP, so blogging may be a bit sporadic.  That said, I promise we will be back on Wednesday — we’ll have an announcement to make at that time.  Until then, drum rolls will continue in the background, building up to the announcement — and on Friday for a week in review.  Of course, I’ll be back if anything happens in the publishing world between now and then that I just have to talk about.

Until then, remember that we are still accepting submissions until the end of the month.

Also, if there’s something you want to ask us about or if there’s a topic you’d like us to discuss, leave a comment and we’ll be sure to respond.  Now, it’s time to find another cup of coffee and to get back to work.  Mondays really should be outlawed.

    Two questions.

First about Impaler by Kate Paulk. Is Kate going to write a sequel?

Second about Blood Moon by Sarah Hoyt. When can I purchase it??? [Very Big Grin]

    • Paul,

Kate has another sequel in her head and we’ve discussed it. As excited as we are about Impaler, we have to wait and see how the sales go. We’d love to be able to bring out the next book, but you know how it is. (shrug) We’ll look at the figures after Impaler‘s been out several months and then make the decision. It’s the same with the sequel to Nocturnal Origins and the Musketeers Mysteries. We want to do them, but we need to know it will be financially viable not only for us but for the authors as well.

As for Blood Moon, it will be out shortly — hopefully within the next two weeks. Sarah’s been fighting deadlines for more houses than just us and, since I don’t want barflies coming to find me because I kept her from finishing the sequel to Darkship Thieves (very big grin). . . she’s promised to get her edits on Blood Moon back to us within the week. From there, it doesn’t take too long to get things set and ready for sale.
